The Everlasting Phelps

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Cloture and the Constitution

This would have had at least some weight with me had it been written in, say, 2005. Now, though, it’s just your standard bullshit liberal hackery.  “Whah, we don’t like the rules that we used as the minority now that we are the majority.”

In Federalist No. 75, Hamilton denounced the use of supermajority rule in these prophetic words: “The history of every political establishment in which this principle has prevailed is a history of impotence, perplexity and disorder.”

Hell, to me, that’s an endorsement, not a denouncement.
