This Nuance Shit

Doc Rampage and DGCI are talking about the Myth of Nuance. I’ll say it flat out: I have no use for nuance in politicians. None. Here’s why.

There is no nuance in a Senate Vote. Yes or No. Those are your options. There is no Nes button. When you are the president, there is no nuance in your vital duties. Delta Force is waiting for the go code to retrieve the hostages. Go or No-Go. Those are your options. There is no nuance there.

When the shit hits the fan, when we are under attack again — and it is just a matter of time, if not Al Queda then Korea, if not Korea then China, if not China then Sweden, because who can look 20 years into the future — you have two choices as president. Kill or be killed. There is no nuance there. There’s no shade of gray in life and death. You are alive or you are dead.

Nuance in politics is a crock of shit. Nuance is what you claim when you are unable to come up with the answer. Nuance gets Americans killed. Nuance led to September 11th. Nuance is the reason we didn’t retaliate when the Cole was bombed. Nuance is the reason we didn’t respond effectively to the Embassy bombings, to the WTC bombing. I have no use for nuance. Yes or no. Go or No-Go. Kill or be killed. That is what it means to be president. That is what it means to be a senator.
