Twitter is not for teens, Morgan Stanley told by 15-year-old expert

Here’s some more information for your research paper, MS: 15 year olds are almost always wrong.  About everything.

    So what is your complaint? I personally don’t know any teens who use Twitter. They all be fogeys like me.

    The assertion is that teenagers don’t use Twitter because you have to SMS to and from it — which shows that Twitter simply needs better marketing (since you don’t have to SMS at all to twitter), and is likely to explode when iPhones and Android phones get cheap enough that teens have them.

    The other assertion that I take issue with is that online marketing doesn’t work on teens, which tells me that teens are oblivious to how they are being marketed to. They have no idea what the principles of propaganda are.

    I agree with that. And I count myself damn lucky to have an 8th grade social science teacher who was clever enough to teach us about those without getting sacked. His examples may have been on the more political side, but they were works of art and really made you think twice about the stuff you watched.

    Besides, teenagers SMS all the time to each other.
