Hackaday Forgets Its Audience

So Hackaday decided that, on a site where they talk about people building nuclear reactors in their garage, that Irving Ahmed’s “invention” is something to be celebrated.

It’s not.

To be clear, I place 100% of the blame for the whole kerfuffle on the school.  They had every opportunity to end this debacle, and at every turn they escalated.  It was obviously not a bomb.  They never treated it like a bomb.  Anyone who thinks that looks like a bomb is at best wholly ignorant about the modern world and is probably stupid.

So what if he intended it to look like a bomb?  That’s your excuse, Irving?  That you were outsmarted by a 14 year old whose “invention” was taking the case off a Radio Shack alarm clock?  You aren’t getting any further ahead with the “we got punked by a 14 year old kid” than with “we can’t tell an alarm clock from a bomb.”

At the end of the day, though, this is Muslim science.  Muslim science is 1400 years of taking another culture’s knowledge, wrapping a shitty, inferior wrapper around it, and calling it your “invention.”
